China Association of Geriatric Research is a national first-grade societymanaged by National Health and Family Planning Commission and approved byMinistry of Civil Affairs. It has been 20 years since 1993 when it wasestablished with support from Organization Department of the CPC CentralCommittee, the Central Health Care Committee, former Ministry of Health andfamous medical scientists such as Wu Jieping. With purposes of thoroughimplementation of the spirit of 3rd Plenary Session of 18th CPC CentralCommittee and grasping the spirit of documents including Opinions of the State Council on Speeding up the Development of ElderCare Service Industry, Opinions ofthe State Council on Promoting the Development of Health Care Service Industry and Opinions on Speeding up Talent Cultivationof Elder Care Service Industry jointly issued by nine ministries such asMinistry of Education and Ministry of Civil Affairs, the development of elderlyhealth industry is promoted eyeing on the feature of aging population anddemand of elderly health service and sticking to development philosophy of“people-orientation, coordinated innovation, service for health andcontribution to society”. The rules of elderly health service talentcultivation are explored to facilitate such talent cultivation. With domesticand overseas academic exchange and cooperation, due contributions are expectedto be made to developing elderly health service industry with Chinesecharacteristics.  “Establishingconference of Branch Association of Elderly Health Service Talent CultivationResearch under China Association of Geriatric Research” is planned to be heldin Chengdu during December 4^th-6^th, 2014. Members of thefirst session of committee of Branch Association of Elderly Health ServiceTalent Cultivation Research under China Association of Geriatric Research willbe elected and the first seminar will be held. Domestic and overseas expertsand scholars of elderly health service talent cultivation research are invitedto academic exchange in the forms of themed reports and speeches.
