The Director General of Hospital Authority in Xindu District, Mr. Huang Lizun and staff of its main divisions came to our university for a seminar with 10 more people including top brass from Xindu District People’s Hospital, Xindu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Second People’s Hospital and the Third People’s Hospital in Xindu District. Yu Xiaping, the President of Chengdu Medical College and managers of related functional divisions attended the meeting hosted by the Vice-president ,the director of the centre ,Tang Ping.

The President Yu welcomed the colleagues from medical industry and briefed them about the university on the management of majors, enrolment and employment and also on building the exchange platform, training on teachers and creating the specialized features. She pointed out that it conforms to the superior policy and goes with the tide of the time to support cooperation between universities and local institutions so that they can take advantage of each other's strengths to realize the university’s social service function. Moving to Xindu embodies the willingness of the university to extend to local environment and contribute to the development of the district by supporting in education and talent training. In order to realize a win-win development, President Yu hopes for further cooperation and urges to carry out the early stage of the cooperation framework agreement between the university and the local institutions.

Mr. Huang Lizun, the Director General of Hospital Authority in Xindu District, gave a general introduction on medical and health service in Xindu District including capital investment, training on talents, attracting high-level talents, supporting policies and the achievements to date. He praised the head of the university and related faculty in actively and practically promoting the cooperation with local institutions which presents that they place high value on social responsibility and are enthusiastic in social service. The development in medical and health service in Xindu District has its weakness and shortcomings which could be complemented by university resource. He suggests to firstly carrying out the early stage of the framework agreement in medical and health industry with the aid of medical resources of the university.

They deepen the discussion by exchanging their views on the construction of teaching base, talents education, the application and reports of scientific research subject, training on clinical skills, collaborative Innovation for elderly care and health and the implementation of cooperation agreement between university and local institutions. President Yu and Vice-president Tang answered the questions posted by the delegates positively and practically facilitate the cooperation by managing to connect related functional divisions and its secondary college with relevant authorities and hospitals in Xindu District.

Mr. Tang reckons that this seminar promoted the cooperation between the university and Xindu district. He urged both sides, before taking actions to carry out the framework, to reach a consensus and make a strategic decision based on fully mutual understanding by conducting on-site research and deepening relationships. Additionally, the content of this seminar should be sorted out in time in order to make a detailed plan for the implementation of the framework.
