Hundreds of Experts Gathered in Chengdu Medical College Discussing Personnel Training for Elderly Health Service

On 5th December, Summit of ChinesePersonnel Training for Elderly Health Service was held in Chengdu MedicalCollege. Over one hundred experts from colleges and universities, scientificinstitutions, and old folk’s homes exchanged views and conducted discussions onthe issue of the current state and future trend of elderly support industry, aswell as personnel training for elderly health service and care service. Mr. PanKejian and Mr. Tang Ping, the vice presidents of Chengdu Medical College,moderated the morning and afternoon session respectively. Researcher YuXiaoping, President of Chengdu Medical College, delivered a speech: Thinking on Personnel Training for Elderly Health Service in Chengdu Medical College.
It is known that experts anddelegates from Chinese Association of Geriatric Research, Peking University,Renmin University of China, Sichuan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Institute of GeriatricResearch of Minister of Health, China Endowment Industry and EducationAlliance, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, NanjingUniversity of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu University of TraditionalChinese Medicine, Taishan Medical College, and Chengdu Elderly Care Hospital,attended the summit. Lasting for a whole day, the summit provided a wealth ofinformation and multi tiered analysis from different perspectives, whichinspired participants to great extent.
Pro. Luo Zhi, adviserfrom China Endowment Industry and Education Alliance, delivered a speech titled“The Current State and Future Trend of Personnel Training for Elderly HealthService in Elderly Care Industry and Colleges". He analyzed the prominentchallenges as well as opportunities in the personnel training for ElderlyHealth Service, and put forward countermeasures as well as suggestions.
Pro. Chen Yuanping, Head of theSchool of Health Management of Renmin University of China, made a report titled“Exploring Health Conditions of the Elderly and Service Modes of the Industry”.In his address, he pointed out that elderly health service was the currenthotspot of the Chinese health industry. He also analyzed the influence taken byaging society, various needs of the elderly, the prospect of elderly healthservice as well as elderly support industry, and the huge demand for talent inboth of the industries.
Researcher Yu Xiaoping,President of Chengdu Medical College, introduced the school’s measures thataimed to advance the development of national and regional elderly healthservice. Through a strategy integrating personnel training, scientificresearch, discipline construction, clinical treatment, and social servicetogether, the college will intensify its efforts to build an “all-in-oneservice” chain nurturing talent in elderly support and elderly health servicefrom college students, undergraduates, to postgraduates; attract qualityfaculty to set up scientific research teams; construct innovation parkscentered on elderly support and elderly health; establish demonstration basescombining medical care with support through the joint cooperation of collegesand enterprises; set up diagnosis and treatment service system responding tothe chronic diseases of the elderly; and step up the disciplines constructionin these two fields.
Pro. Guo Guifang, head of NursingSchool from Peking University Health Science Center; Pro. Zhang Xiangeng, headof Nursing School from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine;Associate Pro. Wang Yan, director of Teaching and Research Section of NursingSchool from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and Pro. ZhaoXiaoyu, head of Nursing School from Chengdu Medical College made reports themedon the personnel training of elderly care respectively.
Based on practice, Mr. Xiao Hongsong, director ofChengdu Elderly Care Hospital, and Zhang Ying, director of Qingsong Academy,conducted discussions on the issue of elderly support, elderly healthmanagement, elderly personnel training.
